"Preserving Community Heritage"

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

As a twenty-year resident, former Town Clerk, a member of several committees, and volunteer for the Town of Summerfield, I have seen many changes and growth in our community.

This leads me to my campaign theme, “Preserving Community Heritage.” It is my belief that a town’s heritage is not only its old buildings and historic landmarks.  Community heritage is the people: its families playing t-ball at Summerfield Elementary School, and soon at our new ball parks; its families eating a picnic lunch at the park.  Community heritage is Summerfield's young people playing a friendly game of basketball at the old historic gym; its volunteers working together on town committees to preserve “Historic Summerfield’ and working together for an amazing “Founders Day”, full of activities for everyone. Most importantly, community heritage is neighbor helping neighbor when times are discouraging.

These are just a few examples of Summerfield’s Community heritage; our heritage-yours and mine. I want you to help me make sure we preserve and promote this type of camaraderie for generations to come.
